Finding our Voice:
Listening, Forming Friendships, Acting on our Common Faith

TPPC 2011 Listening Campaign, February to May, 2011

Why have a “listening campaign” in Takoma Park Presbyterian Church?

To deepen the "relational culture" of the congregation so that we can act powerfully together on our common faith.

What concrete result will come of our discussion?

We will create new list of mission priorities reflecting our common calling. This will help us set goals and create a budget for 2012.

The current plan is for the TPPC session to start to create a new list of mission priorities for our church at their June meeting based on the campaign, and present a goal budget based on what was learned during this process in the fall.

How will we listen to one another?

One Sunday a month, February to May, we will have “small group conversations” in worship. Each Sunday will focus on one question. We will open with 30 minutes of worship and then 45 minutes of discussion in small groups. Or come during the week to share and listen during a discussion in the parlor from 7:30 to 8:30 PM.

On a Sunday following the small group conversation, the sermon will deal with what we learned from the discussion
