The Word: “An Interactive Christmas Pageant” by Norman Allen
Our sermon this Sunday will come in the form of a Christmas Pageant. Our church school will retell the Christmas story through a pageant written for a Zoom format. Come and hear the old, old story in a new, new way. This will be fun.
“There must be always remaining in every person’s life some place for the singing of angels—some place for that which is breathlessly beautiful. … The commonplace is shot through now with new glory—old burdens become lighter, deep and ancient wounds lose much of their old, old hurting. A crown is placed over our heads that for the rest of our lives we are trying to grow tall enough to wear. Despite all the crassness of life, despite all the hardness of life, despite all the harsh discords of life, life is saved by the singing of angels.”
Howard Thurman, The Mood of Christmas
Christmas Eve Worship
TPPC will celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ with a Christmas Eve Candlelight Service on Thursday, December 24th at 5 pm.
The service will include lighting the Christ Candle, community members retelling the Christmas story, the singing of carols, anthems from our church soloists and a meditation from Pastor Reisner. The service will conclude in candlelight as we sing Silent Night together.
Please consider inviting your friends and neighbors to this holy night when we make our way to Bethlehem to meet the Christ child.
About Online Worship
We will gather by ZOOM (feed available starting about 10:45 AM). At the moment, Pastor Reisner and a few others broadcast from the church sanctuary while worshipers will be invited to sign on ZOOM.
Directions on how to connect and participate in virtual worship will be sent via a group.io e-mail. If you are unfamiliar with ZOOM we recommend you read up a little before the service. We will set an informal and experimental mood, ask forgiveness as we stumble along our way in a new medium. It will be fun.
