This Sunday’s Worship: May 30
(Sunday, May 30 At 10 AM, Live-Streamed On Zoom)
The tradition at Takoma Park Presbyterian Church is that on Memorial Day weekend the congregation gathers in the yard on Maple Avenue for worship that is come-as-you-are and share-what-you-wish. We call this ‘Worship on the Steps,” but don’t be confused – the service will take place on Zoom.
There is no order of worship this Sunday. Worship will be what each participant wishes to share as a moment of inspiration. We welcome recitations, poems, prose, proverbs, rap, quotes and original material, songs, dances, break dances, tangos, instrumental solos, duets, trios, quartets, jokes, sculpture, mobiles, watercolors, oils, tapestries, haikus, limericks, juggling, gymnastics, exclamations, and intimations. Anything goes.
Share what is close to your heart. Come and share.
There is no bulletin for this service.
We will gather by ZOOM (feed available starting about 9:45 AM for the summer). At the moment, Pastor Reisner and a few others broadcast from the church sanctuary while worshipers will be invited to sign on ZOOM.
Directions on how to connect and participate in virtual worship will be sent via a group.io e-mail. If you are unfamiliar with ZOOM we recommend you read up a little before the service. We will set an informal and experimental mood, ask forgiveness as we stumble along our way in a new medium. It will be fun.
