Sermon: “The Work of Rejected Stones“ by Pastor Mark Harper
“Jesus was crucified on a cross as an insurrectionist because he bore witness to the divine truth that no one has to be defined by his or her circumstances. Liberation from oppression is God’s gift to the powerless in society. Freedom is Jesus’ gift to all who believe. And when one accepts this liberating Gospel and makes the decision to follow Jesus, you must be prepared to go to the cross in service to others – the least of those in society.”
James Cone, from his ordination sermon for Chris Hedges
Two special worship opportunities will be offered during Holy Week and leading up to Easter. A Maundy Thursday communion service featuring the reading of the Passion narrative from the Gospel of Luke will be held on April 14th at 7 pm. And then on Good Friday, a simple service reflecting on the crucifixion of Christ will be held at noon.
Grace and peace, Mark
Our services continue to be held in our Sanctuary. People are welcome to come to church for worship, and we will continue to live-stream our worship service.

About Online Worship
We will gather by ZOOM (feed available starting about 10:45 AM).
Directions on how to connect and participate in virtual worship will be sent via a group.io e-mail. If you are unfamiliar with ZOOM we recommend you read up a little before the service.
We will set an informal and experimental mood, ask forgiveness as we stumble along our way in a new medium. It will be fun.
