Meet Pastor Mark Harper
The Reverend Mark Harper is the pastor at Takoma Park Presbyterian Church. His extensive training and leadership experience in conflict resolution, interfaith coalitions, youth ministries, partnership building, volunteer engagement, and local action serves him and the Takoma Park community well.
Our minister brings a commitment to address the sins of racism and injustice, an appreciation for TPPC’s history and values, and a desire to join a life-giving, justice-loving community of disciples that is leaning into hope while cultivating a spirit of joy.
“Because we are living in a nation where our sins of racism and injustice towards the poor have been dramatically exposed, I pray that I can partner with parishioners who are actively engaged with naming and working towards the healing of the neighborhoods and institutions where they live, work, and worship,” says Harper.
“I trust that God is drawing me to use my gifts of compassion, encouragement, and imaginative activism to enable a community of faith to discern how the Spirit of Jesus is already at work in its collective life, and the lives of individual members.”
