Sermon Preview:

“A Seat at the Table” by Rev. John Seaman

Today’s worship and Holy Communion service is special. It is called a Ceilidh (pronounced “kaylee”) Service and is based on the Scottish/Gaelic tradition of ceilidhs or informal gatherings of people that provide an opportunity to share food, music, and stories. There is an emphasis on simple hospitality, enjoyment of community, and sharing a meal in such a service. People are invited to greet those on Zoom or around them briefly during the sharing of the peace and are encouraged to learn the name of at least one new person. We will celebrate Communion this Sunday. Celebrating the sacrament on Zoom creates a challenge. If you are worshiping from home, we recommend that you prepare your own elements for communion – a cup of juice or wine; a piece of bread. We may trust that the holy mystery of the Living Christ among us which we affirm in Communion is great enough to transcend the limitations of our distance from one another in a Zoom meeting in this hybrid form of worship.

Hybrid Worship Continues This Sunday

We continue to live-stream our worship with the primary focus on delivering a complete service for people participating on Zoom.

Our Zoom services will originate from the library. People are welcome to come to church for worship, but no one should feel obligated to be personally present.

The entrance for worship during the renovation will be through the wooden doors on Maple Avenue.

We respectfully ask that everyone wear masks in the church for their own health. Those who are presenting or leading the congregation in singing may remove their masks while they are presenting or singing.

An announcement concerning summer worship at TPPC is available on our blog.

About Online Worship

We will gather by ZOOM (feed available starting about 9:45 AM).

Directions on how to connect and participate in virtual worship will be sent via a group.io e-mail. If you are unfamiliar with ZOOM we recommend you read up a little before the service. We will set an informal and experimental mood, ask forgiveness as we stumble along our way in a new medium. It will be fun.
