Black Lives Matter DC

Black Lives Matter DC is a member-based abolitionist organization centering Black people most at risk for state violence in DC, creating the conditions for Black Liberation through the abolition of systems and institutions of white supremacy, capitalism, patriarchy, and colonialism.

BLM DC provides educational and informational materials that publicize instances of police brutality and other harms against Black people in Washington, DC. They also organize direct actions, including protests and rallies, in response to instances of injustice.

BLM DC has detached itself from the national BLM organization as of 2020 and focuses on confronting injustice again for Black people in Washington DC.
