Namulaba Health Center

Namulaba Health Center is a clinic that provides free medical care including HIV testing, childhood immunization, and primary health care to a rural community in Uganda that has limited access to medical services. In addition to physician assistants and nurses who provide clinical care, the clinic has a team of trained community health workers who educate the community about health conditions including distributing condoms and most recently educating about COVID prevention.

It was founded by a member of TPPC, Dr. Samuel Kalibala. He works on a global AIDS program based in Washington DC but visits his native Uganda frequently. He built this eight-room clinic on his farm when he became overwhelmed by villagers seeking medical care whenever he visited the farm because they had discovered that he is a doctor.

In its history of 14 years, the clinic has received funding from a British charity, a Swedish couple, and direct support from the farm.

TPPC has supported the clinic in various ways including direct annual contribution from their Social Witness and Action Committee (SWAC) as well as sponsoring the clinic in the Alternative Gift Fair in 2018 and 2019.
