The Blessing of the Backpacks and the Singing of the Hymns

Blessing of the Backpacks Service, September 2019

On Sunday, August 27, at our 10 am service, we’ll celebrate the beginning of a new school year with the blessing of the backpacks and the singing of the hymns.

Bring your backpack or briefcase or laptop or purse or smartphone - whatever you take to school or work.

In addition, we’ll have a hymn sing during this service. Worshippers in the sanctuary and on Zoom will be invited to select hymns from the purple hymnal for all of us to sing together.

If you worship on Zoom and do not have a copy of the purple hymnal, let us know and we’ll get one to you.

Reminder:  On September 10, we’ll return to 11 am Sunday services.

On Sunday, October 8 at 3 pm, there will be a service for blessing the animals.

We’ll be blessing our furry, not-so-furry, and even slithery friends in this brief warm, welcoming, light-hearted ecumenical service.

We are hoping this will be a community event, so invite your friends and neighbors.

Sunday, October 8th is our Bleesing of the Animals service at 3 PM.
